Arrivals

Please tell us your arrival (and departure) flight information (date, time, airline, flight number) and we will help arrange transportation to your hotel. We will have some vans available to bring you from the Accra International airport to your hotel when you arrive.

Visas and other Entry Requirements:

We are sending a list of all conference participants to the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign affairs and relevant immigration officials, but that does not ensure that they will permit you to enter. You are responsible for ensuring that your own visa entry requirements are met, but you might find the following information helpful.

All visitors to Ghana, except citizens of a West African country which belongs to ECOWAS, are required to have a visa. A passport valid at least six months from the expiration date is required. You must have a return ticket to Ghana before applying for a visa.

Please consult with your local Ghanaian Embassy or Consulate to determine if a tourist or business visa is preferred. Either can be used to enter the country. Business visa applications must be submitted together with a letter of invitation from the principals in Ghana. Both business and tourist visas often require hotel and travel information, but again, you will need to check with your local Embassy/Consulate for their specific requirements.

The cedi is the unit of currency in Ghana. The cedi is broken down into 100 pesewas. The best currencies to bring to Ghana are US Dollars, Euros and British pounds. These will get you the best exchange rate at banks and foreign exchange bureaus. There are ATM machines available in major cities. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

The Requirements for Tourism Visa as listed in the Ghana High Commission website are given here (but please check your local Embassy/Consulate for up to date information, as the requirements may vary from country to country).
